Tramprennen 2017

Save the Date: 18th of August to 2nd of September 2017

Tramprennen 2017 will happen from August, 18th till September, 2nd. We will meet on Friday evening in the respective starting locations, where there will be the pre-meetings. You will be drawn to your route (more information below) and get your Hitchpackage then, so don’t miss that part! The race itself starts on Saturday morning. After almost two weeks of craziness we will arrive at our final destination (will be announced soon) on Thursday, 31st of August. Of course there will be some party in the evening and after everybody comes back to life on Friday there will be the announcement of the ranking and the celebration of the winners!

Starting Locations: Erfurt and Lüneburg

The pre-meetings on Friday evening are organized by the hosts and of course there will be enough place for all the hitchhikers to sleep somewhere the first night. More information about the exact meeting points and the stuff happening there will be announced before the whole thing starts.

Update: Sadly we have to cancel the start in Kiel….

The Routes

Tramprennen will start with 6 (+2) different routes to the baltic region. Like last year there will be always two routes starting from one point and meet each other again half way before everybody will meet at the final destination after two weeks. At the starting points each team will be fairly drawn to one of the two routes starting from there.

To keep the whole thing even more interesting we will only announce the detailed routes at the evening before the race right at the starting points. Buuut… anyway it will be worth it to check the homepage from time to time because some more information will maybe drop out earlier!

The donations: We support Viva con Agua and Pro Asyl

We don’t spend two weeks of our holidays on dirty gas stations only because we can. We also do it for a good reason: collecting money for the important work of Viva con Agua and PRO ASYL.

The Hitchpackage

Like every year there will be an amazing Hitchpackage for every team. For the ones who hear from something called Hitchpackage for the first time: It’s a bag with a lot of stuff you can use on your way! Look forward to a fancy Tramprennen-shirt designed by the TR-Crew, nice stickers to put everywhere between Germany and the baltic region, usefull Edding markers, a sim card with value from Ortel mobile, a folder containing usefull information and many other surprises.

After all this funky information you can’t wait anymore to hit the road? That’s completely understandable! From the 1st of June the registration for this year’s Tramprennen will be open on our homepage and as soon as the first teams will be online, there will also be the possibility for them to collect donations for Viva con Agua and PRO ASYL. Please keep in mind that the registration will close again the 31st of July. After that date it won’t be possible anymore to register your team.
