Two weeks through Europe by thumb. Why?

Because we`re excited to experience other countries and cultures, making new friends along the way; and at the same time doing our small part in making the world a better place by raising awareness, funding for the work of VcA and Pro Asyl. What a great combination, don`t you agree?

Why should a lift take us along?

Rock, Raeggae, Ska, Pop, Folk? No matter which type of music you prefer. We will bring along an awesome mixtape to share the finest German music with everyone giving us a ride; including small local bands and of course masterpieces of German Culture like Helene Fischer`s "Atemlos". We will therefore enhance a deeper intercultural understanding in Schäuble being not the worst Germany has to offer.

Our best Autostop-experience so far

The unexpected hospitality of the drivers and the stories they share with us.

Our goal for the race

Reach the destination. Participation is everything!

For a Donation we would...

- Put your favorite song on the mixtape. - Bring along an extraordinary souvenir. (We know, you`re still lacking an Albanian stone in your super impressive stone collection.) - (Maybe) perform any other special task you`re giving us. Do not hesitate to ask us. But - honestly speaking - donating is about giving something truely from your heart without expecting anything in return. And that`s what`s making it so precious. Sharing is caring!

Hey, we are Jana from Hamburg and Julian from Trier. We didn`t know each other before the race. Actually, we still haven`t met in person yet. But we apparently have some core values in common and share the goal of raising money and awareness for good causes. This is why we are sure to make a great team and soon be Backseat Buddies!

Blaubären and backseat buddies shared a taxi for the last part of the way. Disqualified for this stage. Waiting since yesterday 6 pm with 2 cars per hour driving by led us to this decision . At least our campsite offered a spectacular view.

Not surprising we arrived on the second day. Underage drivers going in circles, smashing each other, WTF? Went looking for another ride, got picked up because we've had a spelling error on the sign and the driver figured we might appreciate some help ;). New hitchhiking trick?!

We started pretty late today as Jana had to get a replacement for her lost piercing. Afterwards we got our first ride in a truck being offered local vegetables. The following lifts invited us to a local plum exhibition where we tried rakia, the Serbian national drink. Later, being stuck on the road, we were invited by our next lifts for the night and we are now enjoying cold beer in a local bar here in valjewo . The team Hase joined us and we will take a second try to get to visegrad tomorrow morning. The Serbian locals are awesome. Thank you for all the amazing experiences on the road.

We asked for the Hungarian translation of 'east'. The result was not what we expected...

Comfortably resting, stretched out and bedded on fluffy cushions on the backseat of a minivan, we are on the way to Novi Sad. Hopefully arriving there soon 🙂

Relation of cars going to European Union vs leaving European Union is like 1000:1. Traffic jam at the border. Plastered the border with no border stickers.
